The Badische Zeitung presents the BZ Ostrich Guide!
Ostrich inns are a gastronomic specialty in southern Baden. These farms are only open a few months a year and mainly offer home-made products and regional specialties. The BZ ostrich guide provides the most important information on ostrich farming in southern Baden.

When you load the app, you will receive a number of ostriches to give you an initial insight into the functions of the BZ ostrich guide. In order to use the complete BZ Ostrich Guide, it is necessary to unlock the current Ostrich Pack. To do this, you can tap on "Unlock all ostriches now" above the list of ostriches or select the menu item "Unlock package" at the top right. In the following steps you can then purchase the desired package. This package is then downloaded directly, after which all content is available to you.

Digital subscribers to the Badische Zeitung receive the subscription edition free of charge under the menu item "Activate package". Subscribers to the digital subscription to the Badische Zeitung can immediately use the same access data as for their digital subscription. If you are a subscriber to the printed newspaper, you will receive BZ-Digital Basis and BZ-Digital Premium at a large discount. Find out more about this at the top right of the Badische Zeitung website under “Digital subscription”.

The BZ ostrich guide provides all important information about up to 100 ostriches and wine taverns (also with full concession) from Freiburg, Breisgau, Kaiserstuhl, Markgräflerland, Ortenau and the district of Lörrach:

★ Name and address
★ Telephone and website
★ Map display
★ Route planning
★ Current opening times (season) and days off
★ Watch list for your favorite ostriches
★ Search function
★ Compact info on the ostrich economy
★ Information on culinary specialties
★ Offers for children
★ Pictures of ostriches
★ Distance to ostriches (as the crow flies - if GPS is activated)

Thanks to a wide range of sorting options, you can have the ostrich farms displayed according to your own individual wishes - for example, sorted alphabetically by the name of the ostrich farm, its location or according to your favorites. It is also possible to display only the ostriches that are currently open. Or those ostrich farms that are very close by. A simple traffic light system shows at a glance whether an ostrich restaurant is open or not.

With this traffic light you can see on the clear map display immediately where the nearest ostrich farms are located or which ostriches are currently open. The GPS location function allows the distance (as the crow flies) to the ostriches to be displayed. In this way you can also find hidden ostriches with certainty.
